Fille du calvaire

An extended conversation between a young man and his older friend about how to win a woman's love.

The eighth short film by the director-producer Stéphane Demoustier, Fille du calvaire offers a sensitive and humorous portrayal of a young man named Jérôme's infatuation with a dancer.

It takes place during the daily routine of the metro ride to work, with a conversation between two commuters in which Stéphane Demoustier reveals all the heady emotions and excitement that go hand and hand with the trials and errors of a new relationship. Following the film's selection at a number of renowned French-language festivals and its screening at the IFC Center in New York, MyFrenchFilmFestival is proud to include this audacious short film from the new generation of French filmmakers in its 2013 selection.
